What's Black, White and Yellow All Over?

Well hello there sexy Design Crisis patrons, my name is Jennifer Perkins and I’ll be your guest host for the day. Typically you can find me blathering on over at Naughty Secretary Club, but today I thought I would stop by and try to amaze and excite you with my current favorite interior color combination black, white and yellow. I love it so much that I had to split the post between Design Crisis and Naughty Secretary Club as to not hit the “oh my Gawd that is an obnoxious amount of pictures” limit on either blog. So if this post tickles your taste buds cruise it on over to my site for a little more. First let me preface this with the fact that I love vintage home decorating books. A stroll through memory lane in a few vintage design books is a real eye opener as to where some designers got their inspiration.

Take for instance fashion maven and design whiz Kelly Wearstler. She is not immune to the black, white and yellow bug from the looks of these pictures from the Viceroy Palm Springs Hotel.

Perhaps like myself Kelly owns a complete set of The Practical Encyclopedia of Good Decorating and Home Improvement and refers to the scrumptious pictures often for a little inspiration. I know I do!

I like to think that the adjoining bathroom at The Viceroy looks something like this.

Spill a little of your 40 out for your dead design homies. Domino Magazine featured many a black, white and yellow room before their untimely demise.

More vintage goodness to further prove my what comes around goes around point.

Um ya rad wallpaper ahoy maties. The squared off window treatment curls my toes too. Reminds me of the curtains in my daughters room.

No home is complete without a jungle room. Seriously I have one, I just call it my Florida Room.

While searching Flickr I stumbled upon a few black, white and yellow rooms. Well ok this one does not have any white. The stark contrast of the yellow bed against the black wall makes damn sure that no matter how drunk you are when you stumble into your room at night you will not miss the bed when you pass out.

I want to roll out of that bed and have breakfast in this room, again from The Practical Encyclopedia of Good Decorating and Home Improvement

After breakfast I retire to my study to do a little blogging and see whats happening on Twitter and Perez Hilton.

Last, but not least, I want to give a big black, white and yellow to shout out to Erin and her new Le Bebe. We miss you, hurry back!
